"But i think for 80% time 7th option will work." I guess the rest 20 % is for those devices which doesnt have a blackberry data plan. If they have a Blackberry data plan , mds-public works. if not the app will try to connect through TCP ( deviceSide=true) but if the APN are not set, it will fail.

On which device and os version you are testing because for me super(NO_SYSTEM_MENU_ITEMS);
is working fine for switchapplication menu item.
